Women’s Handgun and Self Defense Fundamentals

With three distinct modules, this course is designed for those who are brand new to firearms and those who are ready to learn more about defensive shooting. Basics and fundamentals will be introduced, reviewed, and then built upon.

Whether you’ve never touched a firearm, you’re looking for the next steps in your training, or you’ve chosen to learn about the skills, tools, and mindset needed to use firearms for self-defense, you can be prepared to carry confidently every day with tips and techniques from experienced women in the world of firearms.

Course Overview

Women’s Basic Handgun (WBH)

This introductory module teaches handgun safety, safely unloading a semi-automatic pistol, and the fundamentals of accurate shooting, with classroom and range practice to prepare students for Women’s Intermediate Pistol.

Women’s Intermediate Handgun (WIH)

This module builds on Women’s Basic Pistol by covering handgun types and malfunctions, concealed-carry holster options, situational awareness using color codes, and hands-on exercises to apply intermediate skills on and off the range.

Women’s Advanced Handgun (WAH)

In the final module, students learn advanced defensive concepts, legal use of force, drawing and reloading techniques, range procedures, and movement-based drills—including use of cover and shooting on the move—through hands-on classroom and live-fire training.

This course can be taught either as a group class or as private instruction, although the group class is more common and more economical.  Private instruction is always individually scheduled and requires contact with the instructor (click button above to connect with an instructor).
