Concealed Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals

Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive classroom course (with optional live-fire component) for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. If you are new to handguns, this is a great introduction to everything you need to know to start your self-protection journey. This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will feel confident to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident. 

*This course meets concealed carry permit training requirements, in jurisdictions where applicable and state dependent.

This course can be taught either as a group class and as private instruction, although the group class is more common and more economical.  Private instruction is always individually scheduled and requires contact with the instructor (click button above to connect with an instructor).

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course.

This course is also offered in modified subsets which can be taken individually.  Mini-Classes are ideal for groups who wish to enjoy the learning in bite-sized portions:

Derivative Courses (6-9 hours each):

  1. Concealed Carry Fundamentals
  2. Home Defense Fundamentals
  3. Basic Handgun 

Mini-Classes (1-3 hours each):

  1. Developing a Personal and Home Defense Plan 
  2. Self-Defense Firearm Basics 
  3. Defensive Shooting Fundamentals
  4. Legal Use of Force
  5. Violent Encounters and the Aftermath 

 

Equipment & Gear

Firearm

• Clean defensive handgun
• Magazines for gun
• Magazine pouch (optional)
• Rigid holster (Kydex, etc.)

Safety Gear

• Eye protection
• Ear protection
• Close-toed outdoor shoes
• Brimmed cap

Ammo & Extras

• Ammunition (150-300 rounds, where applicable)
• Weather-appropriate clothing
• Beverage to stay hydrated
• Snacks as you wish
• Other gear as you wish
