American Heart Association Heartsaver® training gives people with little or no medical training the skills and confidence to respond when someone needs immediate help. Intrepid’s AHA-certified instructors provide hands-on training in CPR, AED use, first aid, and other emergency-response skills for individuals, workplaces, and community organizations.

Course Overview

The American Heart Association Heartsaver® program provides practical, science-based training for people who may need to respond to an emergency at work, at home, or in the community. Depending on the course selected, students learn first aid, CPR, AED use, and other lifesaving skills through instruction and hands-on practice.

Heartsaver courses are designed for people with little or no medical training. They are appropriate both for individuals who simply want to be prepared and for those who need a course completion card for employment, licensing, or other regulatory requirements.

Intrepid offers Heartsaver training in several configurations so that individuals and organizations can select the course appropriate to their needs. If you require certification for an employer or regulatory agency, confirm the specific Heartsaver course required before registering.

CPR & AED

  • Recognize cardiac arrest

  • Perform high-quality CPR

  • Use an AED safely and effectively

  • Respond to choking and other emergencies

First Aid

  • Recognize common medical emergencies
  • Respond to injuries and sudden illness
  • Provide immediate care until help arrives
  • Know when and how to activate EMS

PREPAREDNESS

  • Recognize when someone needs help
  • Take appropriate immediate action
  • Build confidence through hands-on practice
  • Be better prepared for emergencies at work, home, or in the community

Prerequisites

There are no prior medical-training prerequisites for Heartsaver training. These courses are specifically designed for people with little or no medical training.

If you are taking Heartsaver to satisfy an employment, licensing, OSHA, or other regulatory requirement, confirm which specific Heartsaver course your employer or agency requires before registering.

YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Heartsaver training is taught by R. Ian Davis, Chief Instructor and an American Heart Association-certified instructor. Instruction combines the AHA curriculum with hands-on practice, coaching, and skills evaluation so students leave prepared to apply what they have learned in a real emergency.
