YPA is the most comprehensive protector training in the nation for exceptionally mature and capable boys and girls aged 12-18.  It is intended to supplement a traditional education in the following disciplines (more are added each year):

• Character, ethics, leadership, and personal responsibility
• Physical fitness, resilience, and disciplined self-development
• Situational awareness, risk assessment, and sound decision-making
• Personal safety, de-escalation, and age-appropriate defensive firearms skills
• First aid, emergency medicine, and lifesaving response
• Disaster preparedness, survival, and wilderness skills
• Communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution
• Cybersecurity, digital safety, and information awareness
• Navigation, logistics, and practical problem-solving
• Community service, civic responsibility, and protecting others

Practical skills for a lifetime of safe, enjoyable, responsible living.

To be eligible, boys and girls must verify:

• Excellent academic standing in school
• Recommendations from 3 non-relative adults, including 2 from their school
• Willingness to comply with academic, ethical, moral, and behavioral standards throughout their time in the YPA. 

• Ammunition for each range session
• Weather-appropriate clothing
• Gear to suit the particular event

The Youth Protector Academy faculty are the members of the Intrepid Instructor Team. All instructors follow the same curriculum, safety standards, and one-on-one coaching approach you see across the Academy.
